Default I love loud pipes - Suggestions for 2018 Ultra

New user here. I've been riding Harley all my life. My last bike was a Fatboy that I installed Vance & Hines Big Radius pipes without the baffles. It had the deep rumble that I've always loved. I've just bought a 2018 Ultra Limited, and looking forward to putting some miles on it, but want to get a more traditional Harley sound from the pipes. I'd appreciate some suggestions that would give me the sound I love without sacrificing too much power.

If you like loud pipes get a Thunder Header.

I have the V&H 4.5" HO on my 2018 Limited and the SE Air Cleaner and it has a deep rumble sound to it. I have the SE Pro Street Tuner also.

Is this your first with a stereo? Be careful of the battle between the pipes and the stereo. You put really loud pipes on it, then you can't hear the stereo so now you spend a lot of money on amplifiers and speakers. Then guess what, now you can't hear the pipes any more over the stereo and the vicious cycle begins.

My personal preferences are to hear the tunes over the pipes but do appreciate a nice tone from the pipes. Especially if you are going to be touring since you upgraded to a limited. Really loud pipes get extremely annoying to me after about an hour going down the highway, let alone over 4 or 5 hours.

My suggestion is gut the cat or get a new head pipe and then a good set of mellow slipon's that bark when you hit the throttle but are milder at cruising speeds.

Again, my personal preference but now that you have a stereo, don't forget to consider it in your pipe choice.

Good luck with your choice and welcome to the touring family.

I would just throw this caution out there.
Before you actually spend money on a bunch of parts be sure they comply with the current warranty restrictions.

What ever you go with, don't get rid of your stock system.

The Ultra is a heavy bike and will suffer performance issues quickly without the right amount of back pressure. Quite often, louder pipes means lower performance...something you might not want to trade away.
