not obsessed.... I use simple green and spray everything from the lower cases down. let it soak while I get my wash stuff around. No mitt down there, but I do have a wheel brush and nylon bristle brush that gets used down there. Not squeaky clean, but not really dirty either. typically these are days where I don't care to ride due to weather, so the time is not that important.... and my wife always wants to know what I'm doing. Nothing is usually my response....
Tell your wife to quit worrying about what you are doing and start worrying about making you that samich!!!!
Like what was mentioned before, my hard earned money was spent on that bike. 32 parts powder coated. Motor work. Stereo work. Ill be dammed if I let it go and let it look like ****. Just like my house, truck, tools, everything is clean and in order. I don't like clutter, or things a mess. It really drives me crazy. My bike gets cleaned the day after I ride every time. My truck once a week, weather permitting. My fiances CTS gets cleaned once a week also. Way to much money spent on them to let them look terrible
I enjoy cleaning mine.....it's actually relaxing and a great way to cool down after a day of riding.....cloths, wax, detail spay and a cold beer........life is good!!
I like a clean bike, but dont like to clean my bike. I consider it a necessary evil. When I do wash it I usually put it on the jack and the underside gets cleaned along with everything else. The jack makes it so much easier to get to the left side muffler and underside. For routine cleaning I use a combo wash/wax and then a couple times a year I do a really good detail and wax that takes most of a day.
I kick it up over 100 right before I put it away. That blows most of the crap right off!
Seriously though... I ride everyday when the weather permits so washing after every ride isn’t going to happen. Every other week with a daily bug wipe on the front works for me.
Short answer...... Hell yeah I clean the underside of my bikes! Helps to find any leaks quicker.
Long answer.......it's because I got lucky as hell having this already built in my shop when we bought this house 10 years ago! But that's cheating, I know!
My stuff stays clean!!! You could eat off the floors of my vehicles and i wash once a week...if i also clean underside, ill take the bags off, etc...not obsessed just proud of what you have!!
btw i can't say the same for the wife!!
If you take care of your bike your bike will take care of you. I`m down there cleaning away all the time. Problem is trying to get up off the floor afterwards!
