Part #25 is ( probably ) loose on the Lever Assy #35 ... It's a bit of a job to replace necessary components ... In the past, on several occasions I've had good success removing the pinch bolt from the lever, running a new bolt and some lubricant to clean the threads, then using another new bolt with some Loc-Tite to tighten the lever to the shaft. It may correct your problem, is not nothing but a couple of bucks and an hour of your time. Also you might consider a product called the "Better Lever" kind of pricey but another alternative to tearing it all apart.

Had to have the shifter pawl assy. replaced due to a shop's service incompetence the first time they were there. The inner/outer primary came off, the tranny cover came off and the trans came out from the right side. Pricey!!! Adjust the clutch so that you don't have to stomp on it to get first gear. Good luck.

The clutch may not be the problem if you normally use lots of force to shift. The owners manual, which may not have come with your bike cautions NOT TO FORCE the shifts as damage may occur. The parts you are having trouble with are fairly soft and those may be suffering the damage from "energetic" shifting. I have rarely heard anyone say that the shift arm remained tight from the factory. It is almost universal that the arm needs to be tightened at the 1000 mile or 5000 mile service. An "L" shaped Allen wrench won't deliver the torque you need to tighten the pinch bolt enough. You will need one of the socket wrench style Allen bits and a long wrench handle to get it very tight. Hopefully with the new arm you have, there will be enough left to really tighten it and have it stay tight from now on.

Dawg, Ive checked out betterlever as well and its a simple concept in so much that I can not justify $225.00 for a part I can probably build myself. One only has to get a stock arm and saw with a band say through the bottom, grind off a little material and then drill and tap each side. I could be wrong but it wont cost $225.00 to that but it is a good fix and product except for the crazy price.
