Default 2008 Road King Touring Handlebars

I just bought some 1 1/4- 12 1/2 inch Wild 1 chubby handlebars. Anyone know if I’m going to to have to get the cabl kit or would the stock cables fit? Also what brand of cables do you suggest. Thanks

Probably, but my suggestion is to take a little more time to mount the bars THEN determine what length if any is required.

I only use Barnett gear. But then, I'm an old school guy!

I think you'll probably need cables, but follow Veekness's advice, as width & pullback are determining factors too. I guess the brand of cables would depend on what "look" you're interested in.

Don't the handlebar manufacturers themselves have that information?

which bars? I did 518s on my 2000 RK. Hadda go to a 3" over clutch cable, and I already had 2" over throttle cables and front brake lines. If I was starting from scratch, I'd do 3 or 4 over throttle and brake. My throttle and brake run straight down to the headlight cowl. If ya want them to be tight to the bars, then 4" over.

I did 10.5 inch wild ones mini apes on my 05 RK.
I think you will needs cables for sure.
My clutch is at it's limit, and so are the throttle cables.

An easy way to determine what length you will need and get pretty precise is to use string and measure for each cable. As far as cable manufacturers I like Magnum Shielding as they hold up very well. Pretty sure by 08 they already did but make certain you use the one piece top clamp for the bars.
