Default Saddlebag locks

2013 FLHTCU... Bought some 2014 extended bags and was wondering if it's possible to pull the locks from my old bags and install on the new ones? So that everything (bags/tourpack) is still keyed the same? Not a big deal, just a convenience more than anything.

Of course you can as all the hardware comes apart. Have had to replace springs, changed out covers, etc...

I've done exactly that on my earlier bike, no problem. These things don't change very fast in the Harley world!

Excellent, just wasn't sure if there was any difference between 2013 to 2014. The latching system is completely different, but hard to tell until it's all in pieces. Didn't want to go through the effort if it wasn't worth it. Appreciate the feedback, thanks guys.

Nope, didn't work. Took them apart and removed the locks. The 2014 has a stop tab at the bottom of the mechanism (6 o'clock), while the 2013 is about 8 o'clock. It's too far to be of use, since it's pushing/pulling a cable, vs. the old is just a tab that swings into the slot. No biggie, just means I have to carry two keys instead of just one. Like I said before, just a convenience thing more than anything else. But you never know until you try and maybe this will help anybody else who's thinking of modifying enough to run the 2014 bags. Off to the next endeavor, finding bag lids to move the speakers!

if it's worth $80 to you, you could order the new locks, specify your existing key code, and then switch them out. (item 26)

if you order them from your discounter, could even get them for less.

I just did this to my 2013 Ultra. Put 2014 and later bags on it.
I bought new locks that used my 2013 key number. $80.
I did have to slightly adjust the front saddlebag mount, BUT the part I didn't like, was I had to remove my saddlebag guard rails because the new bags were a bit wider and wouldn't fit with the guard rails.
