more interest in this than i expected... had indy check align yesterday and even tho he said the right side cam is slightly lower than the left, they both are tight against the boss and measurements are almost perfect... increased air pressure to 43 rear as he suggested and it did help.... otherwise, possible a slight difference in the tire from my original... it is not terrible and i can live with it...just know it is different than the way it was and that puzzles me.. i should clarify that the bars never move, and the bike really doesnt PULL.. it just begins to lean like it never did before.. i can shift my weight way to the right and steer it fairly well with no hands...thanks for all the suggestions and help
Every
HD I ever owned has pulled slightly to the left hands free. The primary is heavy with rotating parts. I keep heavy stuff in the right saddle bag. Seems to help but still wants to go slightly left. I seldom ride with no hands on the bars. Hope this helps.
thats what i am thinking... but i need to know for sure what i am doing... pretty good at workin on dirt bikes over the years but these big tourers are new to me... dealer told me yesterday there is no adjustment and dont let go of bars.,but after reseaching and talking to fellow riders i now know about these adjuster cams... so, here is what i discovered today after removing bags and measuring from center of swingarm to center of rear axle... left side of tire about 1/8 to 1/4 inch furthur back than right... does that make sense as to why it might pull left ? i can see the difference in the cam locations... right cam is lower than left thus the measurement...shouldnt they be exact ? they were not marked by dealer before removing tire... bike has only 16000 miles...perfect condition.. never been over and all this started AFTER new tires...
My bike has always pulled a bit to the left after several tire changes. I can set the cruise on at highway speed and go for miles by adjusting my weight/lean/slight twist of body to keep it going straight. I don't sweat it.
