I've got a question that's been driving me nuts for some time. I purchased a lightly used FLHP 2011 and am getting it ready for paint etc.
My left saddle bag extends beyond the rear crash bars. It's noticeable when viewing it from any angle. Id like to get it back in line to keep the lines straight.
The only thing ive done is remove the side bag protectors as doing so helped untweek the alignment. Has anyone come across anything like this?
The brackets look like they are in proper shape, the opposite side doesn't stick out like this one does.
I have a similar issue with the distance from the top of the saddlebag to the seat. Maybe even your issue also. I bought new brackets , thinking maybe one was tweaked. Nope changed nothing......
i went a little OCD and measured each part, it looks like in my case the saddle bag itself is causing the distortion. The bags are the speed latch police bags, it looks like when they are closed and sitting on the support bar they tweak a little out, yet when they are open the return to the natural resting position. I'm going to put a set off of a friends bike to see if the issues till happens. Id hate to think replacing the bags are the only solution.
