nope, never had the problem. a little pm now and again and still holding fine after 21,000 miles. \\; but if you do, and you end up stripping the splines on the shaft, it is an easy and cheap replacement part. \\;\\\\\\; buddy of mine bought the shaft at sturgis hd for 17.00 course he spent a hundred and something on the new billet shift levers... lol
