Put this on my bags, seems to work well. If it gets trashed, just remove and put another set on. Take your time and follow the instructions. https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...-saddlebag-lid

This is what I used on my SG. They applied it to several areas on the bike, including the bag lids.

I found a site on line I bought a small roll of 3M clear film wide enough to cover the width of the lid. I use some paper and made/traced templates until I found what I wanted then cut out the film. Followed the instructions and was totally amaze at how it came out. I can see them, but most others never notice. Plus you can remove and replace. I think this cost all of $20-25. A lot cheaper than the pre-fab cut outs from Harley or motorcycle armor....

A buddy of mine had his covers done with rhino-coat. When he rides 2 up with his wife, he'd show me all the scuff marks from her getting on/off. The guy at the paint place was already doing a batch of stuff so he got it pretty cheap. They can also mix it so that there isn't too much "beading" and ends up being a smaller wrinkle, which actually looks pretty cool. The durability is insane, he took a key to it and it didn't even leave a mark. So much so that I'm now considering getting all the plastics done on mine. Maybe even undercoating the fenders once I get the tins painted.

Harley sells the protective film kits for saddlebags. I believe it's $80...works quite well actually.

It would be cool if there was an aerosol can of clear protectant. Pop the lids off and just lay a couple coats of that stuff down on the entire lid!
