Looks like I'll be putting the lid bras on my bags sooner rather than later. An unattended 4yr old got loose in the shop somehow and found a screwdriver..... she was writing her name. I planned on swapping to the Rushmore bags eventually but it's not in the cards yet. I'll throw the covers on it and roll this year and try not to think about it too much lol. I actually may do the fairing cover too to match since I've taken some hellacious rocks to the paint lately. Damn bike needs a repaint something terrible...

I would never put leather or vinyl cover\bra on my bike. heard to many horror story about them rubbing the paint off, or the cover flying off - just sayin
will that harm the clearcoat or paint? I thought I read it wouldn't but was curious....esp if left on for a year or few
I don't think it will harm the finish but then again I have never used the product so I really don't know for sure. I do know some people who have used it with success and no damage but as I said, I personally have no first hand experience. It should say something about it on the website I would think.
I have these. Made right here in the states and have a flannel lining. Look nice and protect. Took them off not long ago to inspect and no paint wear at all after 4 years
Got almost the exact same ones. Very nice. Highly Recommended too. https://shorefiredesign.com
Wife and I each sometimes inadvertently would accidentally kick the saddlebags when getting off so got these.
I am surprised nobody has mentioned the twin chrome rails. Have had them on my Road King for years and not only look great but do an excellent job of protecting the lids. As a bonus mine have lights.
Had the vinyl covers that came on a Road Glide I bought used. Took them off ASAP as I thought they looked tacky but to each their own.
I considered it as an option. I would have to use the clear since color matching would be an issue. I'm not convinced i could apply it well enough so it would look acceptable.

I almost bought a set but I really like the look of the lids without anything installed on them.

I know guys who have used it and they all said its super easy to apply. The texture of the stuff is very forgiving but if you do screw it up you just peel it off and start over. One guy at my parents camp in W. Va. has it on his golf cart and when it gets scratched he washes the spot that's scratched then applies a new coat on top of the old stuff. Once it dries he said you cant even tell where the scratch was before.
