G'morning All, trying to decide which look I want to go with on my shark as far as the passenger foot positioning. I really like floorboards but I recently ran across a pic of a RG with chrome pegs for the passenger 'compartment'. I liked it! I just got my bike and it has floorboards but it NEEDS the chrome cover on them because I don't like the black rubber look when they are folded up. Since I'll likely not be hauling around a passenger all that often, I may put pegs on it. Could always switch them out for longer journeys.
Ok. Thanks for your time! I figured it all out without the first bit of input from y'all!
If you're not going to be riding with a passenger that often, why not just remove the floorboards and put a solo seat on it. I've done this and when my significant other decides she wants to go for a ride it takes all of 10 minutes to install the pegs and stock seat.
I went with pegs because I wanted them to be somewhat low profile and inconspicuous since I ride solo 90% of the time. I havent heard a complaint yet about the pegs from my girlfriend but if she doesnt like them, she can ride her Sportster instead of freeloading on the back with me lol.
I like the boards. I will chrome mine out so they look better. My wife still managed to fall off the bike while getting on. Thank goodness she had the helmet on as she hit her head on the concrete. I think its easier for a passenger to pivot on the board to get on...... except my wife of course....
I took off the floor boards and put pegs on my FLHTK.
I like that clean look! Good choice

Oh no! Hope she is ok! Does she still have an 'issue' getting aboard?!!!
