With bike up on the jack, tire aired up -
Put a container of water under the suspect wheel and ease the jack down until the tire is under water just over the rim. Slowly rotate the wheel. The leak will appear.
The spray bottle method works best with soapy water, a little dawn or joy in the water will usually make it appear very easily.
Sometimes my mountain bike tires will get a slow leak, and the submerge test on an inflated tire is the only way I can find it.
Trust me, if you have a leak, this will expose it. "Mark it".
It might not be the tire. I had a similar issue except tires were less than 6 months old. My front tire would lose air - about 5 lbs overnight at first but then within a week it would go flat overnight. I could not find a nail or leak anywhere and eventually took it in to the dealer. It took them a while to find the leak, but it ended up being a small defect in the wheel, the tire was fine.
But, as mentioned above, a 5 year old tire is due for replacement.
My wifes bike had the opposite problem. Pre ride inspection found large nail protruding from side. Air pressure was right where it should be. Dealership that replaced tire was amazed
