I do....SYN3. Getting ready to change that at my 5K service in a couple of weeks. Gonna probably go with Amsoil and their trans specific and primary specific oils. I'm kinda on the fence about the primary.....cuz I keep hearing the formula + is pretty good for the primary.

Man.........this may be my first oil reply.

Can't agree with this part of your statement......

I believe any fluid, meeting the required spec, will be enough to give a stock engine/trans a good, long, trouble-free(oil related) life....

But oil products are NOT all the same.... there are some that perform much better than others, in various areas of performance...

A premium oil would benefit those operating high performance builds, or those operating in extreme conditions, etc...

Not sure if they saz that now. IIRC a few years ago they backed off and now recommend their primary oil for that. Unless they unbacked off and are now suggesting it again.

Harley also says in my owners manual to use ONLY HD branded oil in the motor, and if for some reason you can't, use a diesel rated oil of the correct viscosity, and get it changed back to HD branded oil as soon as possible. MEH.
