Having a center stand is also a great tool for doing things like this. I installed the Wheeldock EZ Up Centerstand and it works very well and was a really easy install. Kind of expensive but for the amount that I use it I feel like it was a good purchase. I hardly ever use the jiffy stand anymore.
Installed the Porthole derby cover. Looks really cool. [8D]
Bought an 06 gasket. Marked the inner boundry with a compass and cut it with a 1/2" chisel. The gasket is made out of a piece of sheet metal. Shears did a lousy job. What do you think.
Thanks for the tips. The 2x4 worked like a charm and did not spill one drop of oil.
Do you see the primary oil splashing around in there when the bike is on? Also, did you need the gasket? I thought that the orange "o" ring would be enough? Granted, I don't have a '07, just curious.

Looks awsome, BTW.
When I turn on the bike, a film of primary oil splashes down on the cover. Like watching a washing machine. As soon as you turn it off, you can see the clutch assembly.
I had to modify the O ring gasket. Can't use the 07, so I bought an 06, used a compass to mark where to cut the gasket, and used a 1/2" chisel to cut through the gasket. Shears was making a mess and lots of shavings.
Posted some pics previously, here some more of the 06 gasket. I test rode the bike today and no leaks.
