Unfortunately my local dealer doesn't have either an Ultra or EG Classic in stock so I can't take a look at these items personally, so I thought I'd post a couple questions here.
1. Is there any difference between the audio system on the Electra Glide Classic and the Electra Glide Ultra? If I'm viewing the information online correctly then the Ultra has the extra speakers (along with cruise control) but the radios are otherwise identical.
2. When I view the dash/control layouts online it appears that the Ultra has a CB and Intercom button on the handlebars while the EGC does not; does the CB and Intercom come standard on the Ultra?
3. Is there an auxilary input for either the EGC or Ultra? I have a Samsung Nexus 50 that receives XM signal (and plays MP3 files) already so I don't think I'll need the XM upgrade from HD; however, I want to make sure it will plug into the audio system.
tour pak on Ultra has lights in the back of it, Classic does not
Ultra has cruise, CB/Intercom, rear speakers, Classic does not
Ultra has fairing lowers, Classic does not
Ultra has wing air deflectors on bottom of fairing, Classic does not
Ultra has two antennaes (because of CB), Classic does not
All these items can be added to a Classic with some wiring mods. Otherwise the frames are the same and everything else is the same
I bought the Ultra in Jan after comparing the the two. The price differance between the two was $1000. To add some of those extras adds up to quite a bit more. It boils down to what do you really want to add above the classic package and what the cost is for those items. I think you will be happier with the Ultra.
I got the H-D tool kit w/my Classic. (I think it's standard on UC & EGC.)
Price diff between the UC & Classic when I bought mine was $2000.
I paid $700to havecruise & trunk lights installed, which were the only things the UC had that I wanted. Left $1300 for bling and didn't pay for anything I didn't want.
