I installed a Big Sucker Stage 1 air cleaner this last winter. I put the stock oval HD cover on the new air cleaner and though everything was fine.
A couple of days ago I went on a 400 mile trip, and when I pulled back into town the air cleaner cover was vibrating like crazy. I discovered that two of the three bolts holding the air cleaner on were broken off!
What gives? Do I have to use a round cover with this set up on my 2006 FLHRI?
??? Ran the Football for about 1500 miles with ANBS and never a problem... Then changed to an open filter look...
I have over tightened a few bolts in my life... Went on a putt this last week-end and the rt pass flrbrd fell off... Bolt broke flush - Brd went a flyin' and broke the wifes Kuryakyn adjustable pegs... (At least she wasn't ridin' this time...)
I just put on a stage 1 on my '06 FLHRIthis week and read too many stories with the same results. Did you use a torque wrench? I went out and bought one to prevent that from happening to mine.
