I had the 1000 mile service done this week. I advised dealer that either the HD pump I purchased was inoperative or there was a problem with the air valve assembly as I could not get a pressure reading or pump any air into the unit.
Dealer advised valve was bad. Returned to dealer yesterday to have valve replaced and noticed a lightmisting of oil under the right portion of the seat and on the right rear saddlebag. Dealer advised they might have to replace right shock.
Came back to pick up bike and they said that the valve was replaced, psi was set to 20 and they did not think the shock had to be replaced.
In the service manual it states that "any loss of oil requires replacement of the shock absorber".
Question, what caused this misting and should I request the shock be replaced?
Thanks.
That is not normal and it should be replaced but there is a way that they can add oil. Call another dealer and see what they say before you go back to that dealer...
Show them the service manuel and tell them to replace it. But good luck getting Harley to Warranty they will probally claim abuse like they have done on my warranty try for a different problem.
