If you wait until the 19's come out to sell the bike, you will have a one year older model and the price will likely drop at least $1,500. If you try to sell it to a dealer, they will want to make 3-4k on the bike when they sell it. IMHO, you are better right now trying to set the price at a reasonable level where you can move it fast (your at the start of riding season, which is the best time to sell). If you wait until the 19's come out you will be closer to the end of riding season, thus fewer buyers, you will have a couple of more thousand paid into the bike and it be an 18 model bike.
Private party is the best way to go if you want the most money, but you may get a lot of "tire kickers" who want to throw out a low ball price. At least that's been my experience. Good Luck!
I'd hire a big hootered model for a day of riding on the back of the X's bike and social media the pics. Then I'd sell it; quick. Every month you stay firm on a price you lose the price of the payment.
On another note. If you aren't in prison or drug addicted and you're gainfully employed, that puts you at the top of the food chain when it comes having a shot at another woman. Don't sweat it.
Youre about to get rid of your bike and take a huge hit because she rode your bike once? Are you for real?? You better get rid of the entire house too while your at it!
Sell the 16 and use the money to pay on the 18. If you really want a Road Glide. Buy the parts and convert it. Cheaper than trading. Sell the parts to keep the cost lower or keep them and convert it back when before you sell it.
Just a thought if you like the M8, how about swapping the painted pieces between the bikes. You could the sell the 16 with the red paint set on it that may appeal to some one - wouldn't take much to swap them, but you might still feel like it was her bike....
Funny thing, she got the same seat I have on mine. She liked it enough that she wanted one.... So even if I swap out the seats to my nice broke in one, it is still the same look...
well crap i thought it might work
what about swapping the tins and fairing ? not sure that would work . anybody know for sure ?

Keep both. Ride the crap out of the 18 as a big F U to your ex, put every willing female on the back and make certain the B..., sees other women on her bike, revenge is a dish best served cold, and there is no better revenge than for her to see you doing well, enjoying life and the company of other more willing women on her bike.

if you can afford it, it's not an emotional decision. If you can't afford it, contact rumble on, 3 day process, the pain will be over.
I liked being single, you will find women that come right at you when they find out you are available. Be cautious about jumping right in to anything though, they always have an agenda...
