My filter relocation , should I paint it? I'm wondering if paint is going to hold up good. First intent was to gloss black it to blend in best, but a kinda like the way it looks. This is just mocked up and it will have a billet oil filter on it and braided black lines with black an6 fitting. If I don't paint it I think I'll run two grooves across the front with ball nose.
Id powdercoat it over painting it. Itll hold up much better since its in an area that gets blasted with everything being kicked up by the tire. I think it would look nice in a gloss black to match the frame since that mount on the downtubes doesnt hide very well the way it is.
Then again, if you want it to stand out so you can show off your work, Id give it a nice high polish or even have it chromed.
Ball nozed it today, think it looks better? Decided to get it anodized, but I will have to wait till work has something that needs done to keep the cost down. Might be a month or more will drive me nuts waiting but should look professional & match the billet oil filter.
