Are all the front plastic pieces the same ( sissy bar, Tour pak) I have the detachable sissy bar and was wondering if they are the same part I know Harley makes one that uses the same mounting spot as my sissy bar andwas just wondering? What does the replacement plastic pieces go for?
I dont have the tour pack yet so I will have to ask a question or 2. There are 2 pieces to the sissy bar. the smaller front piece and the larger rear piece. are the tour pack bushings the same as the sissy bar *as asked in a post above* and which one wears out, the front or rear or both? I just want to be clear.
I will be out after dinner working on replacing my forward mounts for my tour pak, and I will send you an answer later this evening... I do know that they have differant forward mounting points but not sure if they are made of the same material or not...
OK⌠Itâs been so long since I used my sissy bar back rest that I forgot that it has its own 2 sets of locating post. So to have a tour pak you will need 2 sets (4 total) of location pins and for a sissy bar back rest you will need an additional 2 sets (4 total) for it. You will end up with 8 locating pins if you use both; and they are all a bit different from each other. The front set of locating pins has a narrow plastic piece that the bracket will slide around and the rear pair is a wider area for the plastic locks to flip and lock to⌠The front set that are narrow are the ones that wore out for me. Hopethis helps or answer your question?
count me in for a pair of the front docking points for the tourpack. Mine are worn, bought a new pair then decided to turn them before replacing them. They wore on the next trip to start rattleing again... slid tourpack up a bit, put two pieces of electric tape in slot on tourpack mount and reseated... seams to be working for last few weeks. will probably turn another 90* next time... trying to save the new ones till I HAVE to use them.
I had a couple of people that were going to send me the old set so I could price out what it would cost to fab some out of nylon or aluminium. So far I have not recieved any. I would still like to get these made, but I need a set to copy.
