Inner fairing brackets broken on a 2008 SG. Whats the best replacement. After a little research should I get a repair kit or just replace the whole bracket ? I'm sure there will be mixed reviews.

 

They changed in 09 so you could either get the HD replacement, could get the aftermarket ones like the heavy duty plastic, or could fix the ones you have with your own crafti work or buy a repair kit. It’s all subjective as to what you want. Were it me, I’d buy the HD bracket.

 

If it is broken in the usual spot its a easy fix. I had a 2008 ultra. the Left bracket broke on the top of the bracket. what i did was drilled a couple of hole and put a plate on connecting the 2 broken side together. tightened it up nice repainted it. Worked fine and cost next to nothing for the fix. Other option is to remove all the stuff and put in new brackets. If you go that route may as well get the aftermarket ones that don't break. do a search on the forums here that's what i did when mine broke and i found the answers i needed. Jeff

 

hardware store flat or angled bracket depending on where yours separated. Well under $10 fix...I did mine few years ago and still lasting strong.
