Welcome to the world of Naviextras and HDs GPS system. This has been brought up a bunch when people post a thread asking if paying the $150 for the update when it comes out is worth it. Its almost always noted that people buying new bikes are coming with that same update however its always 2 years behind. Not sure what the hell takes so long to build an update that is actually up to date.
They need to just license their damn GPS info with Google so that they can update the software multiple times a year for a way cheaper price.

Heres what I see for the current North American version (non-CVO). It does show MY2018 but I dont know how to find the software name like in your second pic. The Model Year might be updated each year with POIs but the actual road info doesnt.

I did need to update the system software, but that's unrelated
Huh. Strange beasts I tell ya! I navigated through the naviextras site as a guest and didnt even put in a specific model, just passed that step and was able to see all of the updates.
