I need a new rear tire on my 2003 FLHTCI, I know that it has a 130 now and I would love to get a little wider in the rear.I have searched but there is no difinitive thread for what tires fit and what will fit with mods. Can someone point me in the right direction please as there is so much conflicting info out there!!! Thanks for reading
I am running metzler MU85/16 ON 07 SG. it is wider than 130 but I dont know by how much
Apples and Oranges...his 03 has 1-1/2" belt...Yours NOT
Depending on brand of tires...
Some have reported a 140 just clearing the belt (maybe rubbing when rolling backwards)
Some have rubbed slightly moving both forward and backwards ...they have installed a pulley spacer for a solution (Spacers are offered specifically sized for that application)
Also probably will have to Trim (or deal with Guard)
A 150 may be pushing it again because IF a 140 just clears then a 5mm wider (on one side) 150 would be close or rub when that APPROX 5mm spacer is used... Will be close
.

I'm running a 140 on my 03 FLTRI without any apparent issues. It's a new-to-me bike and that's what came in it. However...
I've always noticed a slight rubbing almost a low-tone squeak as I'm rolling it backwards into the garage and after reading this I'm thinking it's rubbing on the belt guard or something under there! Better take a look 😑

my 04 has a 170, but it required a few mods and no belt changes
