I was told by a pretty reliable friend that 1/16 of an inch is when you change. I just checked my front and it has 3/16 and was told I was good til the end of the summer. Hope this will help. Thanks, I was aware of the wear bars, but I was wondering if people tended to replace them before they got to that point. The tires on my wheels now came with them when they were bought on Ebay. So unfortunately I don't know exactly how many miles are on them. Thus my relying on tread depth as opposed to mileage. I have the stock black wall Dunlops sitting in my garage, but I didn't see any reason to switch to them before necessary.
