Default Fairing Air Deflectors

What is the advantage/disadvantage of adding the Fairing Air Deflectors? I experience some helmet buffeting at highway speeds and wonder if these will reduce that. Anyone ride at highway speeds with and without them?

I have them (Freedom Wings) on my Ultra and wouldn't be able to live without them. They allow a lot of air to hit the rider which is great on those hot days, but being adjustable, they allow you to direct (soften) the air that is hitting you.

Mine are not adjustable, but are solid pieces....and yes, they do help somewhat with helmet buffeting.

The freedom wings look like the way to go. Do the freedom wings interfere with the fuel tank though?

I have an 07classic that I added the HD wind deflectors to and I use them in winter and take them off in summer because it getshot as hell here in Phoenix- I also ride both with and without a helmet- with the deflectors, I've felt slightly reduced buffeting while wearing a helmet butincreased handlebar buffeting and without the deflectors, it seems to cut through the wind smoother

That's why the Freedon Wings are such a good idea. In the winter or rain they keep more of the wet stuff and air off of you and in the summer when it's hot you can angle them to direct air up onto you and it's almost like not having the fairing there....

I have the clear ones that came with the bike, I only use them in the winter. Been thinking about the freedom wings for keeping rain off. When I have the deflectors on there is not a lot of air movement behind the fairing, never experienced any problems with my helmet either way even with the visior. But it seems like if there was a problem they would make a difference. It does make it a lot hotter in the summer though.
