Take a look at the Zumo 550. It's a great unit, easy to learn and use. It comes with all you need to mount on your ride and also comes with the car mount.

The Garmin Zumo 550 is the best I've seen. You can get one from Buydig.com for around $686 which includes shipping. Also, you can check out their forum on this link

I'll put in another vote for the Garmin Zumo 550. Originally I was going to buy the Garmin that HD rebrands as the nav system in their catalog, but the Zumo seems to be a more modern and advanced unit.

I went with the Garmin over TomTom because Garmin seemed to be a more established and experienced company and I thought maybe less likely that they'll go out of business or not support older units and leave me with a useless hunk of circuitry in a couple years. But who knows.

i will go ahead and put in my vote for the garmin 550. originally i thought the 450, but the car mount is about a $100 product so it just made sense to go a step up. pcnation was about $670 ish shipped. extra $9 for overnight shipping.

it's fun for trips. went to lake placid yesterday. worked great. this week im driving back to nebraska and taking it with.

Have seen a number of folks w/issues with TomTom - to the point that ah wouldn't buy one on a bet. Ah'm runnin' a 2610 - not as current as the newer ones, but only 'bout 325 bucks, too.

Hey Tex Redneck,
Did you buy the 2610 recently?
If so was it a new one?

I have only been able to find rebuilt ones for around $300.00.
I know two guys that run the 2610 and I have riden 1000's of miles with one guy with the 2610 and I'm impressed with the features.
I think it would do me well.

But, after looking at the zumo 550, I think it is about the best out there, but, I just don't need the best as far as GPS goes.
