Default Piston size question.

Im looking at SE pistons:

22853-99A

these say 1550 flat top .010

does this mean they are 3.875 + .010 or are these 3.875???

if I were to have my 88" cylinders bored would it make a difference?

Its BEST to measure your cylinders first to see what OS you can get away with.

If you are wanting a bigger bore why not look at the kits from one of our sponsoring vendors and go up to 98 C. I. Why go only 7 inches when you can go 10 inches? Now I realize you may not want to spend 2000 - 2300 bucks but somebody should be able to sell you just the pistons, rings, and pins
https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-28614-...-bore-kit.html
You can also talk about 98 inch kits here

any way have fun looking hunting, and building.

Since you haven't gotten an answer, it means .010" is added. When pistons are oversized, it's conventional just to say + .005, + .010 rather than give exact measurements.

It was answered-
He has to know if his bore will clean up to that next OS first. (B4 buying pistons )

No - it wasn't answered - he just wanted to what the measurement meant.
And, I highly doubt that an 88" being bored to a 95" isn't going to "clean up" as you advised him. Maybe you missed that part of his post. Just sayin...

You're both correct. Now that I know it's 3.885, can a 3.750 jug skin that much?

Just for fun here, -, i advised him to measure the bore B4 choosing a piston.
It does no good to vasulate, postulate, guess about what might work without the facts.
The fact is the absolute cylinder size is what will dictate piston size.
Carry on.

If you are wanting to know if the jugs can be safely bored that much then yes they can.
