I literally set up a couple of rides within the last hour, and had no problems at all. Are you sure that they didn't actually save? I noticed that you need to make them as "favorites" to get them shown on the main page.

I set up one ride last night and then got an error on the next ride. I tried again today and still get "error occurred during saving" and don't know wtf changed. I even deleted some old rides to make sure I had not exceeded some kind of limit and this had no impact.
HD had recently upgraded their Ride Planner UI. Pretty easy to use for quick routes. You have to sign in or create an account in order to be saved. So to start click Create, make a start point and end point. When all done hit save in bottom right side. You should be able to view or edit your route in SAVED button on the top right. There you can hover over your route and you will see options you will see DELETE, EDIT and PREVIEW. Clicking preview will allow you to donwnload your route to your computer then to a USB drive to add to your Boombox radio. Edit will allow you to re-edit to further customize your route. Remember you must click SAVE when done. For downloading to your BoomBox and a good explanation on how to load it without confusion, I explain this in another thread. Clicking the empty star will allow others to see your created route, the page will be two sections the upper portion will be BOOKEDMARKED RIDES AND THE LOWER PORTION WILL BE YOUR SAVED RIDES. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/new-r...l#post17332228

I'm only semi-literate when it comes to this stuff, so bear with me. I created a route in Ride planner, saved it and clicked on download gpx file while my Harley branded Zumo was plugged into the computer. If I plug the Zumo into the computer, it shows that the gpx files I created are on the device. When I open custom routes on the GPS, it says no routes are available. WTF am I doing wrong?

They are probably on your Zumo, but in a "special" area on the Zumo from where you need to "import" them so they appear in Custom Routes. Try this after you have the gpx files on the Zumo:
On the Zumo, go to Settings -> My Data -> Import Data.
On the Zumo's Import Data screen, choose Routes.
A list of routes on the Zumo will be displayed. Select the route(s) you want and then tap "Import".
The routes you selected will now appear in Custom Routes.

That's how it works on my Zumo. Good luck!
Tried that....I click on my data and the only options I get are: Set Home Location, Manage Trip Logs and Delete Favorites. I do not have a memory card installed, could that be the issue? I would assume that the GPS unit has some form of internal memory since the gpx files are saved somewhere.
