Steering problem
Oh dear me my bike must be a total wreck cause when I push my left grip forward my right grip comes back and the wheel points to the right... Then when I push my right grip forward my left grip comes back and my wheel turns towards the left...
The OP is like so many of the old guys that bought a BIG bike on retirement.
They have always wanted one but never made the sacrifice. like a lot of us did when really young.
They are out there every day, plugging up the roads, too scared to look in the mirrors AND SEE THE LINE OF CAR BEHIND THEM.!

I'll agree the OP really doesn't seem to know how to steer a bike at any speed over approx. 5 mph.
At 70 mph, you couldn't turn those bars more than a fraction of an inch if you wanted too.
But you will not "steer" the bike like that at anything over parking lot speeds.
You really need to take a riding course before you get hurt!
Sign up for an MSF class ASAP. And park the bike until after you take the class.
push left, lean left, turn left. and vice versa. unless you are doing less than 5 mph or so. but i can tell you for a fact that at highway speed (coming off an off ramp) there is no way that you were turning your handlebars to the right to make a right turn. physically impossible.

.
You truly have no clue do you?
What you describe works for bicycles, not a big MC
Please go learn something somewhere b4 you hurt yourself really bad.

^ When was the last time you rode a bicycle? Countersteering works the same way, it’s not opposite just because there isn’t an engine. It’s much less noticeable on a bicycle due to the light weight and your seating position, but you steer them the same exact way.
