Afternoon I bought the bag and fender extension from Advan Black in Brilliant Silver not realizing like a dumb *** that the bike is actually Pewter Pearl. They do not have bags in Pewter Pearl already checked. I went ahead and mounted them since I waited for 5 weeks and thought at first didn't look to bad. Just kind of looking for other opinions. I do like the new lids though since these are 14 up bags any opinion thinking about selling since it cost so damn much to paint them. Or should i just roll with it?
It's really up to you. Can you live with the difference or will it constantly bother you? If you stay with it you will truly have a "one of a kind" bike.
let's be honest if you're asking the question here I believe you answered your own question.
I understand and I can totally sympathize. You know we know that you know you are trying to talk yourself into it because of the money spent long wait, anticipation.
Actually, the two tone isn't bad. It's close enough colors to actually look like you planned it that way. I'd consider doing the rest of your plastics to match and call it good. Then balance it out with some good chrome as well as some blackout parts. You'd have to repaint the back fender extension to match, but that'd be about it.
Do you want a (1) patchwork quilt/puzzle bike, or a (2) color-matched bike...I say #2 is the answer b/c your ride's pretty sweet...don't make it look like a Father's Day at the beach w/o suntan lotion.
The picture angle leaves a bit to be desired, making it difficult to get a clear picture.
A possible alternative is having some pin striping/graphics done to the bike, or wherever to help it all blend together. People will often set up at rallies and do this quick and pretty cheap.
I would have to get them match. Can you send them back and exchange for unpainted parts since you mounted them? Then have those painted to match your bike. How much extra was getting them painted? Getting things painted is expensive. Do you love the color you have? Maybe paint the whole bike and end up with a 1 off custom paint job.
