I ordered a 21 and 18 combo from HogPro but with the Metzlers on national back order I may not be able to get tires anytime soon. The Avons are a little taller, but I don't know how much taller. Is anyone running these on their bagger with a 21 up front. This is going on my 04 Road King Classic and I want to know if I am going to have rubbing issues with the Avons.
I did a search and didn't find anything useful.
Thanks in advanceI need to make a decision by Wednesday.
I wasn't aware of a Metzler nation wide back order.
I've run Avon Venom X's before. They were better than stock Dunlops, but not as good as Metz. If it's a matter of a long wait, I'd go for the Avon's. Have you tried contacting Shooter64 on this forum. He stocks tires. Mounting and balancing is not really that expensive, especially is a long wait with Hog Pro is in your future.
I just ordereda pair of Metzlers 2 weeks ago and had no problem getting them?
Ditto GlideMan. jskwarek, Where did you hear this back order thing? Have you evencalled to see if you can get the Metzlers you want? Plenty of online places that sell them. What sizes do you need?
I ordered the wheels through HogPro, Metzler tires have been on back order a while according to them and date for release has been pushed two times already. They are due out again on July 6th, but I am worried that so many people are waiting that I am going to get stuck again with out tires.
Avons are avail now that is why I was asking. I kinda screwed myself by waiting so long to order my wheels and tires but was waiting on the rest of my stuff to get done at paint so I could do everything at once and didn't really think that I would have a problem with tires of all things. But nothing has been easy with this whole project.
I have talked with Shooter about another set of wheels that I was looking at just ended up going with my first choice, but he is a great guy and I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for wheels or a 360 brake.
Jeff, get the Avons, if you cant get the Metz's, I ran Avons for a long long time, and never had a problem with them, they wont get you as many miles as the Metz's because they are a little softer, but I think they are a great second choice. Let me know if I can help.
I'd love to try the new 120/70-21 Dunlop E3 radial if they would just make some 18 rears in a 140-160 to go with it. Wake up Dunlop, we don't all want 200+ rear radials.
