a similar problem happened on a friends EGS trike a couple weeks back. we were cruising down I95 at 75mph when his bike simply shut off. after about 2 minutes, we found that the drive belt and worn right through the starter cable. after a little re-routing and a modded beer-can cooler (dont ask) we were on our way.
You got me. It was just tucked away behind the main harness. Just make sure yours has an extra zip tie on it.
As for the belt being red, mines black just like everyones, might have to do with the flash or something.
Zed, yes it is covered under warranty, heck the bike is only 3 months old. I'm taking it to the dealer today and will give an update after they repair or replace the harness. I'm really pushing for them to repalce the whole thing sence the large wire has a hollow tube running though it and contains (1) very thin wire. I don't see how they could even fix that.
