I wont carry a gas can in the saddlebags or trunk because it always makes things stink.
i will lash a gas can on top of stuff. Plastic something under it for stink prevention.
Im partial to a 2-gallon can. One gallon isnt enough, more than two gets heavy.
That right there ^^^
I too have carried gasoline to extend my range on many occasions but never inside a closed area where vapors can accumulate. That's what I was referring to in my above post.
I have never had that problem. (stink)
The gas can made for the saddle bag even comes with its own clear plastic bag to seal it all off.
Following directions can be helpful?
I carried 2 of the Reda gas cans on my trip to Alaska. Never needed to use even one of them. They did not leak or smell. The only fault is the nozzle on the can is very hard to work with and tends to drip when pouring.
When I leave on a long trip I carry a total of 11 gallons.
That set up looks great. I love the HD logo on the side. Just one suggestion. Get that tank painted the sweet color of your ride.
Say, that makes for a good beer container...........
This is what we in snowmobile country carry. But come to think of it, I have a gas caddy on the sleds now. Too many closed on (pick a day of the week) to keep up with.
By the way, gas doesn't have that super burn taste to it any more when using an old school siphon hose. Either that or I am a drunk who's taste buds are toast.
