I have seen those saddle bag cans and what I would suggest, should you decide to use it, is that you reinforce the pressure points with some kevlar fabric or at least some aluminum tape. I say this because pretty much everything that I store in my saddle bags ends up burnishing a hole at some point due to the constant rubbing from vibration. If you pack your bags full enough so there is absolutely no movement you may be able to avoid that but I still would reinforce the corners with something and then keep an eye on wear.

I have taken the same gas can to Sturgis and back several times with no known wear, in the left Rear bag.
I do put some foam under it .
It is only a gallon and weighs very little-6 lbs
I will inspect later today and see if ANY abrasion has occurred and report back .
Please remember - Some people can screw up anything, they should not own a wrench.

Anyone here use this gas can? Seems like a good idea for certain trips where gas stations are few and far between.

Nopie.

I carry a few siphon tubes.

Also when remote which is often, I have 6 gallons, top off when I can. And always look for gas at 1/4 tank.

Also pretty careful abt late in the day and remote. Rare gas station areas may say GAS AHEAD and when u get there, need to exit and go another 5+ miles. If they are closed which is a good bet, then that is another 5+ miles back to the highway. 10+ miles is a LOT when u r eyeing the gas needle as u know.

I carry 2 of those containers when I pull my trailer. Otherwise I keep a liter of fuel in a container in my saddle bag.

I won’t carry a gas can in the saddlebags or trunk because it always makes things stink.

i will lash a gas can on top of stuff. Plastic something under it for stink prevention.

Im partial to a 2-gallon can. One gallon isn’t enough, more than two gets heavy.

bladders are expensive, but they pack down small and lash down securely when holding gasoline. Pretty durn tough too.

I guess we shouldn't get one of those either.
It's only "old" if you've heard it before ... resurrecting it may save someone from a serious fate ... Is there anything wrong with that?

I have that can. Fits nicely in the bag of my FLHT. I ride a lot from Wyoming to Los Angeles, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, and there are times when I just wanna keep going, or just end up in one of those long in betweens with no stations and it comes in super handy.
