I recently purchased a 2014 Road King Police. It had previously installed Electra Glo saddle bag lights on it and they worked perfectly. Nothing done, just went to check the lighting as part of my routine and realized the brake function no longer works. The running light, turn signal and four way still works as expected. The original brake light functions normal with front or rear brake is applied. There is no evidence of any tampering with wiring as the Electra Glo lights use the factory wiring to piggy back off of. The bike was never in service and only has 8000 miles on it.
I would check each connector for water, loose-fitting, possible wire breaks. Also, crushed wires where they route from the battery area back to the bags.
mmessa005, Thank you for the attachment. I had tried several times checking the connectors and even put dielectric grease on all the pins even thought they all looked brand new. All the wires appear to be in great condition.
VinceTheArchitect, I agree that un-plugging all the things and then plugging all the things back in does work every time 60% of the time. unfortunately not this time.
I will look into it further when i am off this Wednesday, I am hoping that the module did not go bad....
Thank you both for the input, I will update the post when I find the issue.
