I am having a problem with the running light circuit on my 2009 Ultra. I keep blowing the fuse. Even with the harness disconnected before the rear fender and the front fender marker lamp disconnected the fuse still blows. I am not experianced with electrical issues and looking for help so I can get back on the road. TIA
I'd suggest looking in the service manual or online electrical drawings for your year and model to see what else is in that same circuit.
Spots, dash...? you'll just hafta search it out.

There is obviously a short circuit in that circuit. You need to get your hands on a service manual and start to physically trace that circuit/ harness looking for chafed wiring, sharp bends around frame, broken or damaged wiring.
No body likes chasing shorts but it's a lot more straight forward than people think, just very tine and labor consuming.

OR keep tracing it backwards until you find the problem.......
If you can identify about where the problem is you can cheat and cut the wirees on both ends and just run a new wire to bypass it.
.that is probably what they would do at the shop, or sell you a new harness.
You most likely won't find what you need in the hd service manual, you will need the hd electrical diagnostic manual for your year bike.search the internet you might find a free copy to download. This manual is just as if not more important then the service manual, you need both.
