Street/Road Glide-Style Rear Bullet Turn Signals - Rear Bullet Turn Signal # 68997-09 - that fits ’14-’15 RK: 15 June 2016: A forum member confirmed number "I can indeed confirm that the above part 68997-09 is the one I use for my 15 King, it mounted up no problem and looks and works great. I did re-use the tag light from the stock light bar, since it plugs right back in to the taillight, whereas the tag light from the -09 part does not, and requires spicing.” That's the one I used in my conversion and it works perfectly. I did find it easier to remove the tag light from the original "2x4" turn signal bar and swap it out with the one that came with 68997-09.
Very nice, thank you for the info, I will have a look into those.

It didn't sound like there was any splicing to do...just exchanging some kit wires for the signals to the existing connectors shared by the front auxiliary lights. I'm guessing that headlight removal is necessary to get to the connectors(?). The rear probably just requires a similar hook-up in the tail-light housing. A close-up pic of the kit looked like the wire ends had pin connectors already installed. It takes some work but once done it's done.

Also, there is a kit to install a shorter (10" vs 13" stock) straight rear signal bar (68611-98). It brings each signal in about 1.5" on each side.

Have fun...
Great info, the shorter signal bar is a great idea for me, it will bring together nicely the rear lighting as I also have the HD saddle bags run/stop.turn lights and the OEM amber sticks out to far, I like the idea of bringing it in closer.
I saw on HDs site, everything is plug and play, Im even tempted just to get the short bar for now, as I like the bullet/billet lights for the rear but not sure how it will look up front as all the lighting is big ex fog lights and headlight. the kit forces you to buy both front and rear, think I would like to start off with just the rear ... not sure when I will ever get to any of this stuff, but it seems like this thread gave me possibly one more idea to do with the bike, I thought I ran out of ideas.

Looks great, I like what you did. I've been thinking about changing out my rear bracket.

Yeah, putting the shorter bar on and smaller bullets is on my list for sure.

Yeah, looks good.
Been looking and looking. I am pretty sure, almost positive that HD doesnt make a shorty bar with a license plate light for the 14 /Rushmore Road Kings.
Ive searched all over HDs website.
I may go the route Heavypic has, dont see much choice as far as a shorty turn signal bar swap though.
Im hoping he will post some photos when he gets them on.

You are very correct, they do not make the shorty bar with plate light and mounting for the 2014 and newer bikes...it is a shame really.

Ah, thanks, I think they missed the boat on that, damn, I would love a short bar.

I already have the HD Electroglow Saddle Bag lights and it would have been GREAT to replace the standard turn signal bar with a shorter one to bring those lights closer to the fender instead of sitting in front of the saddle bags.

Im pretty sure I will still get the bullets after I think about it for a while but it will always still make me want the shorter bar. Yet I think they will at least be an improvement of what I have, just not the perfect solution.

They really did miss the boat on that one.
I have the same saddlebag lights, may just end up pulling off everything and fabricating a bracket up for the license plate and plate light.

Yup,
I did the same, saddle bag lights are awesome bright, perfect for those people in cars behind you. Im almost certain I will get the 4 light turn signal "kit" sometime in the future, still trying to make up my mind, I would have for sure with the shorter bar and most likely still will.
