Yes i used a multimeter , because the battery terminals are quite awkward to get to i put the probes on the power feed to the starter motor and other onto an earth and it read 15volts and rising.

Correct diagnosis is directly related to "What comes next", as if all was well you could ride on. Now that we know, next issue will vary from dealer to dealer. I doubt if they are under any obligation to provide you another bike while you wait, but by all means, ask if you want to. Who knows, the service/general managers *might* have a trick up their sleeve and pull something out of their hat, maybe a used one that they might be thinking of that you could tell a friend about or something.
