I have a 2017 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited, it was transported back to the dealer last Friday 6th July, i noticed on tickover that the voltmeter was reading nearly 16 volts and needle climbing into the red zone. The dealership told me that it's the ''Regulator" that's faulty and that they've ordered in a new one, BUT it won't arrive into Belgium until approx 20th July( by the way the Dealership is in Wolverhampton UK & i live in Wales, approx 2 hrs away from them ) , i've told them that i hope my bike is ready for the 4th August as i'm supposed to be going off on a tour on it, i asked if they had a demo i could use in the meantime , they said they haven't , do you think they should offer/get me one until my bike is ready ??

I am sorry that your bike had a failure so close to a planned trip. I have been there. However, it is not a dealers responsibility to provide you with a bike for your trip. It is his responsibility to do proper troubleshooting, order the correct part, do what he can within his scope to see that the part arrives as soon as possible, and get your part installed when the part arrives.
I know that isnt what you want to hear, but to expect more is unrealistic and unreasonable.
i sincerely hope your bike is up and running before your planned trip.
A dealership would have to have a ton of loaners to offer everyone a bike that is getting work done, and they'd just pass that cost on to the consumer.
Problem to be confirmed by a known good meter is a MUST.
Many gauges are OK for general references "On the fly", but when it leads to coins, be certain. (Quid, in your case).
Yes i used a multimeter , because the battery terminals are quite awkward to get to i put the probes on the power feed to the starter motor and other onto an earth and it read 15volts and rising.
Ok...that's handled. Now to the real reason for your post.
We out here on the World Wide Web can debate what the dealer should and shouldn't do from now until the next millenia. It's not gonna affect your deal, and if your sled ain't fixed when you're ready to roll, you...and only you...are gonna have some hard decisions to make.
But I'll almost guarantee ya that this thread is gonna go way sideways. ..and none of its gonna help ya. Good luck, I do hope it all works out in your favor!

Who really cares if a dealer in the UK gives out service rentals or not. Hows that for a sideways response?
