Is there any way to tell what download I have on my bike's ECM? I bought it used from the second owner who has since told me it might have the stage 1 download already, but he doesn't know for sure.
Is there any way I can tell through diagnostics that I can do, i.e. ignition switch, reset button, etc.? Or, if I take it to the dealer can they tell?
Tater,
If you have the original bill of sale from the dealer, the item number should be listed on there. When I had my street bob, I was reading a post about downloads and got curious asto which one I bought. After reading the post with the item #(download) I figured out it was the race download. This may help if you can get that information.

Tater,
It is a good posibility that you may just have a stock ECM. The pcIII will tune the bike so you do not have to have the chip burned by the dealer. I have a stock ECM on my 2003 RK and I have True duals , kerker slip ons , SE air cleaner, 95 in cylinders,, andrews 37b cams, ported and polished heads, 10.5/1 KB pistons. I really don't know how to find out if the stage 1 has been done other than finding out at the dealership. I printed down those diagnostic codes a couple of weeks ago, but I do not remember, if you were able to check that paramenter.
