Default 2017 Clutch question

I have had no issues with my clutch at all.... until a few days ago.... I went for a nice four hour ride, came home, parked, and it worked fine all day. I get up the next day, suit up and get on the bike, pull the clutch in, pop it into gear, she surges forward and the bike stalls..... no clutch.... get it towed into the shop and there is not enough fluid in the resevoir to operate the clutch.

Anyone have this happen to them? and if so, where did the fluid go?... there was no wet spot on or under the bike, and no leaks that could be seen anywhere...

Well, the fluid has had to have gone some place. If it were mine I would be dragging my finger over every component, connection and line where possible as a starting point. Others will chime in with more ideas. Good luck in pining down the culprit.

Since you had it towed into the shop, what was their explanation as why there was no fluid?

They checked out the lines and reservoir and could find no wet areas. Then topped it back up and got it working. They kept it for a few days and watched it .... nothing. I have to be in Vancouver on Sunday and cant take a chance it will happen again and leave me stranded, so I am leaving it there. The mechanic said it was a good idea and he can look at it again while I am gone. I asked him where it might have gone. He said into the transmission. But not enough to cause problems as in the end it is a very small amount.

Then there must have been a leak if it went into the tranny.

That’s what I am thinking. I might send a sample to my oil analyzers to see if it is that. Either way, I will drain the tranny fluid and replace with new.
