Default Full face helmet

well I think my new helmet is gonna be a full face. Can you full face riders out there give me your pros and cons of the helmets your using and maybe some pics? I know that weight is my major concern right now and a helmet with the best perifferal view is really important!

I haven't owned a full-face for many years, but am on my fourth flip-front. That closes down to look and ride like a full-face, with flip-up visor. I currently use a Schuberth C3 which comes with a built-in sun-visor (flip-down using a small lever) and there is an optional built-in blue-tooth system. They have updated their range since I bought mine.

I have this one = https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...modular-helmet

I like that it can be flipped up for ease of putting in on/taking it off. Flip it up at stop lights or when going slow for cooling. It also has 2 vents that can be opened for cooling when needed. Vision is good too. And it has a drop down sun visor built in.

Red face

Looks good 702, with similar features to mine.

I should have added above that Mrs B and I found a store with a trained helmet fitter. Made a big difference, especially for my wife, who is a lot more comfortable now. And the said sales lady was a real bonus.....

I have a half helmet and a modular that I wear when weather dictates. At a certain RPM range I get a drone through it that is annoying.

Schuberth makes a great helmet, I have a C3 Pro modular for my wife and I, and two SR1's for the track. But there are a lot of great comfortable FF helmets out there. Try Revzilla.com, they have sales and specials all the time with a great return policy.

I am strongly considering the Simpson Ghost Bandit Carbon Fiber helmet, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere in my size.

Switched to full face only a few years ago and Ill never go back. Never wanted to. Usually cooler because the sun isn't frying your head/face, rain is a non-issue, and crashes usually land you on your face, not the top of your head. Can ride longer and faster more comfortably. Win, win, win...

As far as brands, there are a lot of them in big ranges in price. A $200 DOT/SNELL approved helmet will most likely save you just the same as a $800 helmet...but you do get what you pay for in shell size, comfort, amenities, sound, vents that actually work, visors that dont fog every stop, WEIGHT, washable pads, etc etc. Bell, Shoei, Arai, Suomoy is what I'd look at, but depends what you want to spend. I LOVE my shoei rf1200.

The biggest things with helmet is you HAVE to try them on!!!! Everyones head shape is different and helmet shapes are different. I love my shoei and cant stand wearing my friends Arai, and the opposite is true for him. We have different head shapes. Also, I'm a large in some companies and a medium in others....TRY THEM ON!

Nice helmet but there are way better options for the money. Unless you're after looks, then Simpson does have their niche.

SHOEI

I just sold my Harley Modular. I bought a Shoei J-Cruise 3/4 which is AMAZING. I plan to add a Shoei NeoTech in the fall for winter riding. For me the modular design is the way to go. True full face are too confining.

Just buy quality, you will not regret it.
