Rained the whole weekend. Forecast said until late Monday, so I decided to pull the header on Saturday. Cut open the header and removed the cat Brought the cleaned out header to my local custom exhaust shop today and they re-welded the cut out plate back on for $30.00.
Put it back on the bike this afternoon, re-mapped the V&H FP3. Got about a 100 mile ride in and lo and behold, no more heat problem. It's like night and day from the way it used to be. Can't wait for the wife, I mean boss, gets on for a ride. She is going to be a happy camper as well as me.
For those of you who aren't happy with the right side heat, do not hesitate to do this mod.
Amazing how that one thing can cut down the heat so much huh? Remove the thigh shield on the left side and that'll help as well. The website I posted will help you drop the heat a large amount.
