Every year I look at the new color schemes when posted on the forum and look for that special, made just for me color - Vivid Black.
I
OP here-thanks for all the replies and discussion.
I think the posted quote above is pretty much where I've arrived as well. Polished my bike with some Pledge yesterday and it does still look awesome for its age-glad I opted for black when I bought it.
After owning one or more black touring bikes and then purchasing a newer or new bike that was not black (because you were sick of black), did you ever regret not getting yet another black bike after owning the "other" color for a few months, weeks or maybe just a few days?
I always liked the appearance of polished Vivid Black as it contrasts next to chrome widgets. However, thinking about going with a different color when it's time to upgrade in the future as I've never owned a Harley touring bike that was not black. My next bike will be a RGU and I do like them in Industrial Gray (gone in 2019 for RGU) and also Twisted Cherry, but again, I keep flipping back to the idea of just getting another black bike; although it's a PITA color to keep looking good.
Not raining on anyone's color choice here, just wondering if any former black bike owners regretted not sticking to black again when they swapped out to a different color?
You can't beat black and chrome on a clean bike. If you do want to spend a lot more money some of the cvo bikes are nice but they do look a little over done. I have a black Road king and was looking at a cvo one day with my wife. She stated that the cvo bike did not suit me, too pretty.
Have never personally care for black as I have always said NOT a color. But my latest purchase makes me 2nd think that, although I will probably make it a "colored" bike in the near future. The black and chrome truly look great together and will be much better as soon as the HD wrapper fender replaces the near empty front fender. 2019, 6k miles, Stage 4 128", Vance & Hines exhaust, HD Agitator Wheels. Hope to have pinted HD wrapper front fender when I get home. Ride Safe and God Bless!
That is a beautiful bike you got there @Gary Wilson
Thanks and I actually saved a picture of your bike to soak in on that HD wrapper. She is definitely an eye catcher!
I will have that fender soon!
Ride Safe✌🏼
i think so My forst bike was a vivid black 05 883. i still ahve it and it looks good for its age. Id get compliments everywhere I went with it, it does have nice chrome add ons also.
