Default Why is wind splitter such a pain to take on and off?

I have a 7” windsplitter on my 18 SGS. I recently got a freedom shield 7” as well. The freedom shield is thicker and better finished in my opinion, and sits up about an extra inch. I thought it may be better for wind buffeting on the highway, and it is. It’s an excellent shield, but most of my riding is local and the windsplitter looks better. So I switch them back and forth. Here’s the issue: freedom shield goes on and off easy. 30 seconds. Windsplitter struggles to come off and huge PITA to get back on. Does anyone know any “trick” to easily removing and reinstalling the windsplitter?
