Default Exhaust & Tining

2000 Electra Glide Classic, TC88 - EFI

Bike has a Stage 1 air cleaner, Power Commander II, and Hooker tuned flow slip ons. It is otherwise stock.

I ordered the Cobra Neighbor Haters to replace the Hookers, and am wondering about the tune.

The Hookers are set for HP on the right side, and torque on the left side.

The bike was set up this way when I bought it, and I don't have the software or cable to change the tune. I can get it from the guys at Power Commander, but I don't know if it is necessary.

Remember when you were first learning about tuning? Well, I'm that guy now. So, what do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

So, the right side slip on is set for HP and the left side for torque? The front head/cylinder produces the horsepower and the rear head/cylinder produces the torque, and it was set up this way? I guess I'm the "new guy"!!!

This is from Demoncycle's website:

TUNED FLOW SLIP-ON MUFFLERS
Proven big horsepower and torque gains
Metallic Ceramic Coating inside and out on internal head pipes retain heat increasing exhaust velocity for more horsepower (industry first)
Tuned Flow muffler features adjustable flow to allow precise tuning of performance and sound quality with no disassembly (industry first)
Tuneable, throaty sound that is adjustable up to 40%
Everything is provided; including instructions for easy installation.

2 High Performance Slip-On mufflers
Straight Cut

These are for FL bikes from 1995-2003

If I were you, I would start with updating that tuner and doing some homework into what tuning is and does. Or, find a tuner in your area to work with. My 2 cents

It's weird isn't it?

The tip of the right muffler has more black soot on it than the left, but I wouldn't consider the soot abnormal. This is what got me interested in learning more about what is going on. The right side has far more exhaust flow than the left. The head pipes are stock, so the rear cylinder pipe splits and ties into the front cylinder pipe.

I am doing my homework for sure, but I haven't found any info that would lead me to believe the fuel maps should or need to be changed as a result of swapping mufflers from what I have now to what I plan to install.

I'll keep digging, and learning.
