My new '07 Ultra is sched for 1000 mi. in a week....
during this time they are going to install V&H Ovals, V&H FuelPak, & a new air system
The question is.... Should I also do a set of "True Duals"... Main interests are general engine performance as the type ride the "Ultra" is.... Good Harley sound (not LOUD, but deep, throaty, oh we all know how it's supposed to sound), &cooler (so far no outrageous heat issues [West Coast Fla])
And what brand Duals and why?
THANKS
GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY....WE LOVE THIS RIDE!!! TO THINK WEMISSED IT FOR25 YEARSRIDING ONGL's!!!
I think you will get the desired effect (sound, less heat, better performance) with just what you have going on there. Unless you're trying to keep the heat off your thighs, the True Duals might be a bit much IMO. I installed what you have (or are going to have) and I couldn't be happier..
Seeing as you're going the V&H route - They do make a very nice Dual header set-up
I did the slip-on route... Took the Grandson for a Putt this week - Temp was 90+ in places & some minor stop & go traffic. I raised pass floorbrds raised to the top mount- Have RJ's and he was still saying his right leg was getting a little hot... Now thinking about doin' the duals also SOON
If your main interest is performance than you don't want true duals. Generally speaking they will perform worse then your stock headers and certainly worse than a 2-into-1 setup. I have nothing against true duals. However, you should just be getting them for the right reason, sound, and a cooler right leg...not performance.
