anyone try 63 corvette air shocks on their bike ? Had a buddy just install a set. He hasn't had the chacne to ride it yet, but the shocks were something like $250 complete with the compressor and lines.

didn't see anyone on youtube. A friend just did this over the past weekend and hasn't had a chance to ride it yet. I've heard of this before but was wondering what performance you get out of them.

There is a reason car shocks are not a good fit on a motorcycle. Its like putting motorcycle shocks on the rear of a car.

There are people in here who use car tires for their motorcycle so yeah seems about par for the course.

I had a similar set up on my 05 an it road rough....JNR air ride is the same principle but they modify the shock valving to work with the weight of a motorcycle not a car. I'd say either get a system designed for a motorcycle from a motorcycle suspension company or buy JNR. If I ever go back to air ride it will be with a JNR kit for around $400.

I've done air shocks on a bike before. Didn't like it. Mostly because of the air expansion. If I had enough air in the shocks to give a springy ride, the bike would top out the suspension when I'd get off. Which made getting off a royal pain. It also took a lot more air and increased ride height than I wanted in order to get enough spring rate to not bottom out the suspension easily.

In my opinion and experience with air suspensions, they seem to work better as an aid to a steel spring than as a sole spring.

I wonder what's different about the corvette air shock though? Another friend of mines son has been running these for quite a few years now with big miles on them and really likes them. I agree i would buy something that's designed for the bike.
