My 05 Ultra has a dynojet PC III installed on it and I’m running true duel Reinhardts and I just replaced the stock timing chain teninsioners with the screaming eagle hydraulic teninsioners and while in there I changed the cams to SE 204 cams. The bike runs better but it idles lower than before. When coming to a stop it almost dies then idles back up but only to around 900 rpms. It also has what seams like a flat spot when just cruising along. Is this something to do with the PC III and what are your suggestions.
when u change cams u change the fueling and timing requirements. the pc111 can change those requirements u have 3 choices use a canned map from dynojet or from fuelmoto if the unit came from fuel moto, this mat get u very close but with all the tolerances that come into play no 2 bike will have the exact same fuel anf timing requirements. the best route is to have the bike dynotuned, the trick here is to find a good operator that knows how to tune well and use the pc111. some less reputable dealerships are suspected of loading a canned map and charging for a full tune.
The changes you describe are largely down to the new cams IMHO, so find someone to tune it asap. You shouldn't do any harm for a short while, but don't ride it hard until after it is tuned. You may be pleasantly surprised just how well it does ride, once done!
Thanks for the reply’s I contacted my local HD dealer and they were telling me I needed a new tuner. Sounded like they were just trying to make a sale. I’m checking the other near by HD shops to see what they have to allow
my advice stay away from HD dealers at this point..........they are there to draw money in and it's not always in your best interest........any map they have will most likely NOT work very well with the PV..........find someone that does a good dyno tune!
Do you know how to go into the map and change the numbers. If you do I can send you a picture of my map. Dyno tuning would be best but mine would be better than what your running now.
I do not know how but I have a friend that does and I would really appreciate that. I have not been able to find anyone in my area that does dynotunning except for the HD shop and I don’t have any faith in them I may have to go a couple of hours away to find someone but would be taking a chance they don’t hoodo me.
If you go into my post look for tuning pc3, at end of thread u have a pic of part of map for one cylinder. Just to give you a idea. I will try to got the rest later. Left myself a note.
