Enjoy the ride and pack as light as you can. +1 on the sweater or get a hoodie. You can always pick one up along the way at walmart or hd.
That's exactly what I do, except I don't shop HD. For less than half the price of 1 HD shirt, I can buy a 3-pack of black Haines pocket tees at Walmart.
All good advice. Big thing to always carry, fuses. I was on a minor road trip, bathroom stop, bike would not start. The fuse for the fuel pump went out. That was on my 02 UC. One thing that seems to be over looked, make sure you enter your manual override code in case the key fob goes out or worse, it gets lost. Other than that, be safe and enjoy.
LoL. Sort of what I was thinking. 500 Mile Day Tripper I hop on the bike and go.
Actually it's a 1,300 mile one-way trip over 2-1/2 days. The bike & items will be in Florida until mid April; then drive back up north.
Don't understand about about traveling light. I have a Tour pack and 2 side bags. Even if it was only a day trip why not take additional items as long as you keep the weight down.
Make yourself happy , pack what you want , enjoy the ride. We have all over / under packed and you will see what you really need . Check the weather and then google road construction on you're route ENJOY IT !!!
